In Howard County MD, this is the 7th Annual International Overdose Awareness Day Candle Light Vigil & Recovery Celebration.
This free event is an international day of celebrating recovery and honoring those who have been lost from any
substance related cause. Included will be behavioral health resources, Naloxone training, Overdose Response demonstration and conclude with a Program of Celebration and Remembrance.
Sponsored by the Howard County Opioid Collaborative Community Council. Attendees will have an opportunity to learn more about the actions being taken to prevent further drug-related deaths.
6:00-7:00 pm – Resource Tables; Naloxone Training; Overdose Response Demonstration.
7:00-8:00 pm. – Program & Candle Lighting.

The annual Tuerk conference, now in its 35th year, covers a wide range of topics including, the impact of COVID on the Maryland treatment system and communities of color, the effectiveness of AA, the use of telemedicine, the impact of generational trauma, research on the use of psychedelics in treatment, updates on the effectiveness of peer counselors, the resurgence of methamphetamines and other stimulants, underage drinking, and the impact of sports betting on problem gambling.
